Noelle's artwork has been making people smile since 2004 when at the blossoming age of 29 she asked herself what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. She had always been a painter, having studied it in college and graduating from the University of Washington with a BA.

[Insert dramatic music and sounds of thunderstorm] And so it came to be that the Artimals were born on a cold and rainy December evening in the Pacific Northwest. The fire had long burnt out and it was into the wee hours of the morning that Noelle furiously painted on her canvases. Perhaps it was the dreariness of the eternal grey winter that was responsible for such an insane explosion of colors or maybe it was something else...we will never know really and you must ask yourself, do you really want to know? [end dramatic music with loud clanging sounds and eerie overtones][One more thing, once painting is finished, perhaps also add a metaphorical pink bog monster withdrawing its long tentacle-like arms from Noelle's psyche]

Noelle originally studied classical oil painting and her dream was to paint like the Old Masters. She achieved success in this genre, however, Noelle's offbeat sense of humor and love for all things quirky came through her art strong and was not to be stifled. As time went on and Noelle "matured" (this isn't true but we can't really think of a better word) her work evolved into her own unique whimsical style. Often the titles of the painting make them even more humorous and both parents & children of all ages enjoy the bold colors and whimsical nature of her paintings. Her animals have their own personalities, histories and stories and eventually Noelle wants to write and illustrate a childrens book. (In fact, if you want to sponsor Noelle in this endeavor then Noelle will be eternally grateful - do you know a childrens book publisher or do you want to sponsor some quiet time for Noelle to work on it
(If so don't hesitate to contact her or just buy some originals :) Think of the joy you will be spreading to the universe!) Or do you want to send Noelle a box of cookies preferably oatmeal chocolate chip. (Please ship cookies to Noelle Dass c/o Imagine Gallery, 35 E 8th Ave, Eugene, OR 97401 . Thank you so much!")

Noelle paints full time and has no plans on giving it up. What keeps her going, is that her art makes people happy. Noelle says "So many people tell me that my art makes them feel good inside. How wonderful is that! I feel to make someone feel good inside means more than anything in this crazy world. I think to surround ourselves with art that makes us happy can have a powerful impact on our moods and therefore our lives. I would also like to end world suffering and I desperately want to save the animals that are dying (I love all animals but especially elephants and primates. Animals are innocent and deserve nothing that mankind has brought on)." I donate a portion of all sales to animal organizations. If you have other ideas on how Noelle can help and if you want her to go work on your animal sanctuary, again please contact her.

Noelle lives in Oregon where she can be found spending time reading, biking, traveling, hiking, drawing, painting, watching movies, playing with animals, and looking for new ways to challenge herself.

“Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it." ----Goethe
